What is the Course About?

This course seeks to explore how information technology can support the collection, storage and presentation of rich assessment data.

How Will the Course Be Presented?

Participants will use digital cameras, scanners and digital video to record and store evidence of student learning. Presentation software will be used to organise, annotate and display the work samples. Presentations will be burned to CD ROM. The range of possible applications for the technology will be workshopped as participants are guided through the use of specific software and hardware devices. Participants may wish to undertake some of the 3 hour IT's Easy courses listed in the AIS Professional Development Calendar to become familiar with relevant technology prior to the course. A collection of student work samples, including activities captured on VHS video and in photographs will be required to create an authentic student assessment portfolio.

This course assumes existing words processing and file management skills. Please contact Bronwyn Tregenza at AIS on 9299 2845 for advice on the pre-requisite skills to undertake this course and to identify possible skill development opportunities. .
